  1. I didn't say JavaScript had threads. It was an example geared towards common programming practices in Java or .NET, where something else could change an array "without your knowledge".

    Anyhow, if...
  2. for (var i in ...) is quite a different operation compared to foreach-loops in C# or Java. And I think it was never meant to iterate through array. This is what for-loops are for in JavaScript.

  3. That's true as long as you use this CSS class for all items. Another option is to use (maybe not yet documented) tpl config option. Combobox is a templated control, so you can customize the...

    It depends.
    For instance, BorderLayout has findPanel() method or the other way would be to call getRegion().getPanel() method chain. If your TreePanel is just "floating" without being a part of...
  5. All international localized files are in the build\locale folder of your Ext installation. You should include them after other js files.

    You could manually construct a SOAP envelope for your message. This would probably be easy for simple data types: strings, ints etc. But gets messy for complex types.
    Otherwise why don't use the...

    Well I'm not quite sure whether it's possible at all. Webservices are all about operability, and SOAP is a way to achieve it.

    Your C# Webservice expects a SOAP formatted message, not a line with name/value pairs or JSON.

    I think this delay is due to Ext executing some initial functions, e.g.

    function somethin() {
    ...
    }();

    will be executed at the load time. Also JS needs to be parsed and validated...
  10. Flush the cache of your browser and reload the page. Also the theme CSS should be used in pair with the main CSS file (not as stand-alone).

    You could use built-in dialog resizable functionality (set "resizable: true") and maybe set additional properties on the dialog.resizer element.

    I didn't say it was impossible.
    Try this:

    Resizable will only resize your dialog and its children. The shadow is another element behind the dialog and it has no relationship to the dialog besides the positioning. You could use built-in...

    It's not that it does not work, but IE has its own quirks how it treats height or auto settings in different situations, depending on different settings, parent container etc.

    enableDisplayMode() does nothing, nothing visible. But if you call it before calling hide() on your table (which is, as far as I understood, inside the fieldset), hide() would set display:none CSS...

    You can't create and insert new DOM elements with Ext.Element, use Ext.DomHelper.append().

  18. ds.load() is executed anynchronously. You should create an event handler like ds.on("loadcomplete", ....) and read your data there.
  19. There are also regioncollapsed, *expanded etc. events in BorderLayout.

    Am not sure, but what is actually your final question/problem here? This big space in the fieldset? It comes from visibility:hidden, which is set by Element.hide().
    If you want this space to...
  21. Well I don't want to reason about usefulness of this or that method or why only some config options have an additional setter/getter. Property setters have an advantage of validating or examining...
  22. You can understand "title" config option as a parameter for the constructor of the class in other languages like Java, C# etc. setTitle() would be a normal property-setter.

    You may want to look at regionresized, *collapsed and *expanded events in BorderLayout.
  24. See http://extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?p=38708#post38708 and the discussion. This might be the problem you're talking about.

    Since id is auto-generated, this would not work. I suppose you have only one north-panel in your app, so you can assign border: none for #x-layout-panel-north in your CSS definitions.
