    Genuinely appreciate you experimenting with this in code, I've been aiming to find time to provide a working example as well.

    With that said, your example confuses me because it is contrary to the...

    I should also note this detail...

    Within the constructor

    new Model(record.data, record.id, record.node);

    this.phantom is set to false since my server is providing Operation a record.id...

    @bluehipy: You've helped me confirm the problem, though I still don't understand it.

    What bluehipy is saying is that when doing a read, Operation populates the resultSet property by running the...

    Thank you for the response! This seemed like a simple and well illustrated example that was bizarrely not receiving even a moment of attention or consideration on this forum (maybe most questions...

    Ext.define('Ext.data.Model', {
    alternateClassName: 'Ext.data.Record',

    inheritableStatics: {
    /**

    As an aside...

    I was a bit surprised to see it populate the userModel, but load() does seem to populate automatically just like save() does with a response from the server.

    It's just that...

    As I understand it, in Touch, when a MODEL INSTANCE IS CREATED, it is a phantom (until save() I think)... but load() doesn't make it NOT a phantom

    I think this is a bug

  11. I believe the problem may be user error.

    I was seeing this error when doing

    //Original REST proxy
    var swap = this.getProxy();

    //localProxy: { type:'localstorage; id: 'foo'; }
    //...defined...
  12. This is absolutely a problem with setProxy when switching between local and ajax proxies.

    Ext.apply.factory checks

    if (instance && instance !== config) {

    Where instance is your old proxy...
  13. Are there any downsides to our Model being an instance v.s. a definition?

    Am I losing anything by not having a definition available?
    Can I recall the definition through an instance (e.g....

    Honestly a bit baffled how this not only received no answer, but isn't so incredibly common it's a part of the framework itself.

  15. The ModelManager documentation states "The following snippets are equivalent":

    // method 1, access model type through the manager

  16. I've been playing with (and enjoying) Sencha Touch, but now I'm moving into communicate with a server side of things.

    It looks awesomely supported so far, but I need a little clarification.

    So in my last thread on this forum I pointed to an app raising a question about how we would implement a particular behavior in Sencha Touch.

    From reading all the documentation I've gathered that...
