    On Mozilla MDM, about XmlHTTPRequest, you can read:
    Note: You may not use a timeout for synchronous requests with an owning window.

    So a better work around could probably be to change the line...

    I founded a work around for FF12, but I don't know which consequences it could have.

    I have exactly the same problem with Firefox 12: broken if async=false :(
