    No, that's not the best way. You're PHP code needs to be smart enough to block access to the other url & redirect to the login page if the user is not authenticated.

    For the client side - yes, it will do the trick. If you're going to publish it as a app on the app store, you should look into PhoneGap. It wraps everything up for deployment to the app store.
