Any reason why we can't publish ExtJS 5.x as an app for tablet?

$$$. You made a great point. However, I wonder how many organizations that are stuck on IE7/IE8 actually made the upgrade to 4.x given its poor performance on IE7 and huge investment in the upgrade...

    any updates on this issue?
  7. This looks like a simple bug to fix. Any reason why 4 months later, it's still open? The OP provided where the fix should go...
  8. Ext.NET outputs ExtJS scripts so it's essentially the same thing except you get to write C# or razor markup instead of javascript. Ext.NET also adds in lots of new overrides and extensions. If you...

Profile your application. That's the best way to solve performance issues. It's impossible to help you if you just say your grid is slow without any examples or specifics.

    I usually profile with...

Reality is that most enterprise applications are used by large businesses that are still on IE7. Your 1.5% stat has no relevance to a lot of developers here.

However, if you look back a few page,...

I am using 4.2 already. Another major pain point for us is the table wrappers for a formfield. Each formfield is wrapped in a table. On our form, we have over 30 fields. Alot of them are...

Thanks Phil for the great explanation. I definitely see why you would want to use tables in layouts. Would a possible optimization be disabling some of the other features for older browsers? If...

If table is not an issue, then why do I see a 40-50% performance increase in render time when removing frames on tabs and buttons in IE7 and IE8?

Mitchell, thank you for reopening the thread. I have made some harsh comments in this thread but it's really out of love for the framework =). I have used ExtJS from 2.1 to 4.2, and I want it to be...
  17. Are you still going to use .NET on the server side? We use Ext.NET extensively here, but we been migrating to mostly pure ExtJS. Ext.NET is just a wrapper for ExtJS. It does provide alot of useful...

You can just turn off Frame on your tabs and buttons. You will then have to set a new Cls and fix the UI issues.

Below is to turn off tab frames. You can do the same for buttons. Again, you...

I was able to optimize our app for IE7 by about 50% by turning off the silly rounded corners for Tabs and Buttons when in IE6, IE7, IE8. It creates a table per tab and per button just to have...

You keep using OS as an example when it's not even close to what ExtJS is. This is the first time I have someone argues that new software / toolkit should be slower. WTF? I give up.

    If Sencha...

Those new OS and new games have new minimum requirements. Sencha promotes their product to support IE6+ so yes, I expect an upgrade to perform similar in performance. If an software upgrade is...

So having a form with a single tab with 15 comboboxes on it is advanced HTML? Because that form takes 2-3s to load in IE7 with ExtJS. I can create that exact form with other javascript libraries...

This is still really slow in IE using 4.2.1. I do not want to destroy and recreate the grid. This should be fixed in the toolkit.

I have studied that blog many times. Some of the tips are useful, but performance with large forms is still very slow in IE7/IE8. Creating a simple form with 20 comboboxes will take 3-4s to render...

Yes, IE7 is slow but guess what, ExtJS was fast BEFORE 4.x. AFAIK, IE7 didn't get slower as time passed so your point is moot.
