I revisited this issue and figured it out.

beforerowselect and rowselect are fired before grid's rowclick event because these two are associated with mousedown event while rowclick is with click....

Using beforeselect would be a good solution if you could tell which cell is clicked. In fact, you can't, I guess. Correct me if you can.
