    I may be missing the point here but if you change the Cardholder model definition of ssn and load the form with the cardholder it works:

    { name: 'ssn', type: 'string' }
    ......
    ...
  2. It means you have a variable which you think contains a string value, but has no value.

    If you did this is in javascript shell

    var x;
    x.substring(1,2)

    In rsqw's sample code, if you change it to:

    var store1 = Ext.create('Ext.data.Store', {
    fields : ['name','num'],
    data : [
    { name : 'chris',...
  4. I don't know about the bug status, but if you rejig the code in the first post you get both 'datachanged' and 'update' events firing:

    var store = new Ext.data.Store({
    ...
  5. If I add another

    <company><name>Test</name></company>

    that appears in the second row.
  6. Using the XML from your previous post, the grid in the example below show 'WGS Branford'.

    I'm using 4.1.1 beta2 and had to remove the line

    mapping : ''

    from the model definition as it...

    I took the liberty of grabbing your code to have a play around.
    Looks like a scope problem of some sort to me - the error message I get

    Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Window] has no method...
  9. Rereading the documentation for clearOnPageLoad it's clear that I'm not using it as intended since it relates to pages loaded by nextPage(),previousPage() or loadPage().

    Is there a recommended way...
  10. Using a buffered store with clearOnPageLoad : false but it is always cleared by the call to prefetch and guaranteeRange.

    I found the line in Ext.grid.PagingScroller.onGuaranteedRange

  11. If the code I posted does not work for you then I would check the page you are embedding it in.

    My only other guess with your code is that the combobox still has autoLoad : true, and something...

  13. What browser version and Ext JS version are you using ?

    Are there any error messages on the browser console?
  14. The code below, which is just your code with some parts (the button handler) commented out works for me in 4.07 - 4.1.0-beta3 in Chrome 17 and Firefox 10

    yes, you're right, using hideAction seems to be the way to go.

    Anyway, glad to hear you got it working.

    You may want to have look at the thread http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthread.php?186846-How-to-hide-tabs-in-tabpanel

    The code I posted there works in 4.0.7

    If you want you tab to re-appear in the sample try

    tab.insert(0,comp)

    instead of

    tab.add(comp)

    in you button handler.

    Loading the store is an asynchronous event and your code won't wait until it has completed, so your store.getCount() will be executing before the store had loaded.

    To see it in action, add a...

    Using Ext.define does not create an instance of the class, so referring 'this.myVeryOwnTitle' in the definition will not help ('this' will point to whatever context the define is in).

    You should...
  23. I don't think you can set it based on a property like you can for TreeStore. (I guess because it represents user selections not features of the data.)

    How about something like the code below. The important bit is having a 'beforeclose' listener on the tab and preventing the close while hiding the tab:

    I think it's because you seem to define MainApp.Start after you invoke the Ext.require.

    The following works for me:

    var app = {};
    app.start = function() {
