    reason for the question: on which event do i have to bind, to wait for the viewport being fully rendered (incl. sub-components) to load the stores?

    please, any hint appreciated.
  4. you may use inheritance to create a custom JsonGroupingStore (not tested)

    Ext.namespace('Ext.ux.data');

    Ext.ux.data.JsonGroupingStore = function(c) {

    ...

    var vp = new Ext.Viewport({

    activeTab: 0
    })
    });

    vp.on('afterlayout',...

    hello, congratulations to this extension, very nice codebase!

    i just tested out your example and examined the XHRs with firebug,
    sometimes the grid fires POST-request with no parameters resulting...
  9. that would be insane. return 10.000 rows, load in browsers memory, filter out 9900 just to show 100 records?
    mysql LIMIT is your friend ...
  10. if the effect is so cleary reproducable, create a test-case and post it as a bug-report!
  11. i had the same problems, the problem was the store didnt tell me whether errors occurred:

    function dump() { console.log(arguments); } // firebug!
    //store.on('load', dump );...

    the inline-code evaluation in xtemplate does not work as described in the api-docs.
    thread: http://extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21053

    test-case kindly provided by animal:

    hello,

    im using the following tpl for a combobox:

    var mediaTypeTpl = new Ext.XTemplate(
    '<tpl for="."><div class="x-combo-list-item">',
    '{name} <img...
  18. works like a charm, too dumb to configure the combobox properly...
    forgot the displayField-property.

    thanks for the hints,
    kai

    just a blind guess

    return {
    records : records,
    totalRecords : totalRecords,
    totalProperty : 'totalRecords'
    };
  20. this prototype does not seem to work properly:

    function createRecordTypeFromData(o) {

    for (var i=0; i<o.length; ++i) {
    var r = o[i];

    var recordDef = [];...
  21. oh i thought the JsonThingy would evaluate a json-string only, thanks!

    one important aspect to create a custom reader was not to need to create a field-def/record... but i will try to integrate...
  22. toooo stupid: case sensitivity (:|
    Ext.data.Record works... but my reader doesn't :/
    the ComboBoxes do not show the values, just empty 5px-high entries...
  23. because i have a java-script object, not a json-string of an object.
    but nevertheless, why is Ext.data.record undefined in the reader-context?

    thanks,
    kai
  24. any hints on this scope-issue?
    how may i reference the record-class from inside the reader?

    the failure-event is for javascript internal failures, eg the XHR messed up.
    to indicate a failure while processing i check an ACK-flag in the response.

    i send back sth like this (JSON):
