How to add simple search field using designer

Hi,
I have a grid with a toolbar. But I am stuck adding search field on the toolbar. can anybody help me for that.

You can add a Text Field and a Button to the toolbar, which will set you up for a search/filter field. You can implement your search behavior in your exported implementation file (the .js file, not the .ui.js file). If you're unfamiliar with the structure of your exported project, take a quick look at the Getting Started Guide

Thank you jarrednicholl but i could not make anything out of it.
I tried to add function to the .js file but it didn't display anything. So now i am totally grounded.
Along with that i want to open a new window when a "new" button is clicked. and I am also stuck on that too.
I have attached a zip file of my project so please help me.
