Ext Designer for Touch
Ext Designer for Touch
If I stick to controls that only exist across Desktop and Touch/Mobile, can I use Ext Designer
for both?

You could, but there's still some differences between the two. We are looking at supporting Touch in the future.

How far away?
Future soon, or "future" future? One of the factors holding me back from buying designer is it's lack in supporting touch.

I really like the Sencha look and feel. After seeing the pain and misery of Phonegap I am really happy to have something like Sencha. However, I don't want to have to hand code all of my user interfaces if there is an option. Think about how powerful it would be to have all the Sencha code that I write available to me as a front end on every platform I program for. You will get a good return on your time invested for adding in Touch to your designer. I hope you decide to do so soon.

Mobile development needs help. Sencha Touch support for visual IDE would greatly help.
