Android 2.2 - Jumping Forms Issue

    Hey guys,

My App is getting better every day, but there is still one big issue on Android 2.2 i desperately want to fix:

I hope it's not just me having problems with jumping forms on android and i found some discussion about this problem on jqtouch and it seems to be some kind of css problem: http://code.google.com/p/jqtouch/issues/detail?id=398

Is anyone else having similar problems?

I did'nt found any threads so i started a new one.

Any help would be appreciated, even if you just tell me that is has to me my fault and not a sencha problem in general

I have this issue as well, particularly when the keyboard offers up suggestions for autocomplete, or when you press a key and a larger image of the key appears above the keyboard to show you what you pressed.

We are struggling with this issue for a while but no luck so far. We have already launched our product and getting lot of complaints. I do not know whether it is a good idea to develop the app again using other platforms. Sencha touch works fine on iphone but the droid phones are having issues.

Yea, I so want to love Sencha Touch - so want to! We launched our app on .93 specific for Android, and it was decent aside from a few phones with very specific issues with freezing on scrolling. I've been working with every new version since hoping for something without enough significant quirks to do a new release, and so far it's just been mainly updating CSS to keep the UI in check after Sencha's updates, and learning to love Sencha's override method. We're aiming to release on the current version but I'm split as to whether or not it's gonna happen. I wonder if the developers at Sencha mainly focus on making things copacetic with the iphone since there is so much randomness between Android devices. Honestly, while testing across 4 different Android phones and getting different experiences in performance across all of them, particularly poor performance with longer lists, and the entire UI dragging up on scroll instead of just the scrollable area... I guess this is what you get for betting on something that you know will more than likely be totally awesome in the end, but I don't know if the premature status of Sencha Touch is worth the benefits of cross-platform deployment at this time when it comes down to sacrificing time to develop native vs trying to get something barely decent on even one platform, let alone several in web app form. I honestly think Sencha Touch is going to be where it's at when it has matured, and stabilized, along with slightly more powerful hardware to handle more complex applications.

For now though, it's going to come down to creative solutions, and (unfortunately) a userbase of Androidians who have gotten used to subpar experiences with Android overall, and hoping that function will reign supreme over UI weirdness in the end.

I think Sencha is going to pull it off eventually, but unfortunately we're all hungry for something a bit more stable now even though it's still beta.

Good to know that it's not just me struggling with sencha on android especially with jumping forms.

I think it's only a matter of time until sencha touch is working nicely on most smartphones. Webkit seems to be accepted as the standard browser for mobile (even Blackberry) and HTML5 and CSS3 capabilities are improving very fast.

Even if sencha won't make it, there will be plenty of "mobile web app frameworks" coming (jQuery mobile, some dojo projects, etc.) to provide solid solutions for web-developers to enter the mobile world.

And we have to keep in mind that platforms are improving as well. Android 3.0 and iOS 4.2 are coming soon and will hopefully make our lives as cross-platform web developers easier

    PS:
The latest Android version doesn't jump anymore on G1-Device and my emulator (after i removed my custom css). I have to do some testing to ensure that it's really working and it was'nt by accident!
