Default No Realtime Data in Designer using DirectStore

No Realtime Data in Designer using DirectStore

    Hi,

don't know if it's a bug or I am doing something wrong, but I am populating a gridpanel using a directstore and the designer's View and also the Preview do not display the data loaded.
I have tried using the directFn call and then rightclick on the store-> load and it won't work. (using the API config only, one doesn't get the option to rightclick on the store and load.)
The store is set to autoload.

However, browsing the exported files, I get the grid with the populated data.

    Cheers,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,

So when you set directFn on the store, the Load Data option remains disabled? Is that what you're saying is happening to you?

    Hello Jarred,

No the load option is enabled, but clicking on it, doesn't display data in the grid.
However I have to stress that the exported project works and data gets displayed in the grid. It's the Designer that doesn't display it, as I stated in the first post.

Ok, I'm just gathering the facts, because earlier you said:

using the API config only, one doesn't get the option to rightclick on the store and load.
Which is why I asked. So only using the directFn configuration, you do have the option to load the data. It simply pops up with a "failure to load data" message box?

However I have to stress that the exported project works and data gets displayed in the grid. It's the Designer that doesn't display it, as I stated in the first post.
Right, I was just wanting to eliminate the possibility that the Load Data menu item was disabled when it should have been enabled, because of the confusing statement mentioned above.

In the directFn configuration box, are your Direct API methods available in this list for selection? If so, that would mean your Direct API was correctly loaded by the Designer and it's another issue.

Yes, the Direct API is loaded correctly, the methods are available in the listbox.

if it wouldn't work in the export, I'd say, I am doing something wrong, but the fact that the exported grid displays the data, points me to a designer issue

Ok good. Had to make sure, because it is possible for it to export fine but not load in-memory within the Designer, giving the behavior you're seeing. Next step: attach your project and all associated code, or email it to me designer.feedback [at] sencha.com and I can take a look. At this point I am unable to reproduce the issue, so it's not a general problem it seems.

Thanks for your help with reporting the issue.

In my case I get the listbox is filed, but when selecting on of the api functions it will not fill in the field.
If I manualy type in the function the load button is showned.

I have not found a solution to this problem
The select box showes nicly the methods.
    But load data failes.

I have tryed various things like modifying the api.php to point out the full path of router url like "/direct/router.php

    But no luck on this.

So I am thinking for moving to use restful api instead, it might be more stable
