    Default Ext.Container.LAYOUTS is undefined

    Ext.Container.LAYOUTS is undefined

    Hi all,
    I'm having a trouble with the "Ext.Container.LAYOUTS", as the title suggests - it's undefined on Ext 4.
    what are the alternatives? what can be done?

    thanks.

    If you want to define new type of layout, you should extend some of existing layouts in Ext.layout.*. In your class set properties type and alias.

    e.g.
    Code:
    Ext.define('MyLayout', {
      extend: 'Ext.layout.container.AbstractContainer',
      type: 'mylayout',
      alias: 'layout.mylayout'
      // ...
    });

    // and use it

    Ext.create('Ext.Panel', {
      layout: 'mylayout'
      // ...
    })
    I hope, it will work.

    Many thanks for the quick reply.
    I will give it a go.
    It's weird that these kind of things are not documented (I searched for it, but couldn't find a thing...)

    Default Column Editor Issue

    Column Editor Issue

    Hi!

    We try to migrate our application from ExtJS 3 to 4. We have a custom column which uses a custom editor based on ComboBox. We had following code:

    PHP Code:
    orm.ui.DictionaryColumn Ext.extend(Ext.grid.Column, {

    //params for column
    constructor: function(cfg) {

    Ext.apply(thiscfg);

    //...
    if(this.editable && !this.editor){
            var
    config Ext.apply({}, cfg, {
    //additional params for editor

    });

    this.editor = new orm.ui.DictionaryComboBox(config);
          }

    orm.ui.DictionaryColumn.superclass.constructor.call(thiscfg);

    this.renderer //renderer definition
    }
    });

    Ext.grid.Column.types.dictionarycolumn orm.ui.DictionaryColumn
    It worked under Ext3.

    I tried to refactor it

    PHP Code:

    Ext
    .namespace("orm.ui");

    Ext.define('orm.ui.DictionaryColumn',  {

    extend'Ext.grid.column.Column',

    alias: ['widget.dictionarycolumn'],

    alternateClassName'Ext.grid.dictionarycolumn',
    //params for column

    constructor: function(cfg) {
    //...
    if(cfg.editable && !cfg.editor){
            var
    config Ext.apply({}, cfg, {
    // additional params for editor
    });

    this.editor cfg.editor =  Ext.create('orm.ui.DictionaryComboBox',config);

          }

    this.renderer // renderer

    this.callParent(arguments);
    });
    The column works (column initializes, renderer works) but without editor. (orm.ui.DictionaryComboBox - our custom editor based on combobox, I tried to put a usual textfield instead and it still didn't work). DictionaryComboBox's constructor executes, i.e. editor initializes but doesn't work. Debug shows that the column doesn't have editor field.
    If I write
    PHP Code:
    this.editor cfg.field =  Ext.create(...)
    it works as expected.

    Any ideas what could be wrong?

    Default grids and editor (combobox) columns

    grids and editor (combobox) columns

    Hello,
    couple of problems with the grid editing, first one I am using cellediting plugin, and have a couple of combobox editor columns. simple question; how do I force the editor combobox to be rendered. I cannot get the editor by using Ext.ComponentQuery, unless I first click in the cell and activate the editor. "This is a migration, so I would like to avoid re-writing the whole application."

    I am not using compatibility layer btw.

    column editor config either wants an xtype string or a config object, so I cannot create the combobox and specify it in the column config. (I did not try this, but I am thinking that it is the case)

    as far as I know, column.getEditor(), actually starts the editor (why would it require (record and defaultField) otherwise.
    EDIT: I think column.getEditor(null, dataColumnName) works.

    Default Attempting to migrate Skai's Grid from Ext 3.1.1 to 4.0.7

    Attempting to migrate Skai's Grid from Ext 3.1.1 to 4.0.7

    Hi,

    I'm trying to use the compatibility layer to migrate Skai's Grid to Ext 4.0.7. My question is does this type of searchable grid component exist in Ext 4 already? If it does not, then is this a feasible venture?

    Thanks for y'all's input.

    Cheers

    Hi,

    i'm using the Ext.ux.LiveSearchGridPanel from Nicolas Ferrero which works fine - actually tested with ExtJs 4.1. -> o.K.

    Default Ext.data.Store

    Ext.data.Store

    [BREAKING][4.0][Ext.data.Store]: No valid model or field configuration could be found so this store could not be constructed. Please see the header docs for Ext.data.Store for details on properly setting up your data components.

    This is a major draw back, because I run on generic code defining the store and the REST service on the server transfers both the model and the data in each call. Are there any known workaround ?

    Regards
    Henrik

    The error is just trying to help catch the more typical case of forgetting to specify this important detail.

    Try starting with an empty fields collection which will create an empty model. Then your updates can come later from the server.
