My system administrator told me they used GZip in the past, but it used to give trouble for css files and javascript files, as not every browser (IE) could handle specifically these files well when GZipped....
I used PJL Compressing Filter in java server side, it's ok for firefox, but don't work in IE.

I recently found a solution which works on both IE and firefox.... please see the files attached..... heres how to use them

    1. put all your JS in one folder and CSS in another
    2. extract the zip archives and put the files in the corresponding folders, thats it

Also, it has "RewriteEngine on" inside the .htaccess file, so I assume you need to have mod_rewrite module installed on your Apache.

Besides, I think you should've mentioned, that it works on apache servers only.

But anyway thanks, I will try and see if it works for me.
    Thank you.
