Textbox in editorgridpanel column

Hi everyone, i'm having the following problem in IE (works fine in Firefox):

I'm using an editorgridpanel where one of the columns is rendered using a custom render that returns an input html element. The problem is that if i click directly on the textbox on any of the rows, the textbox looses focus. Clicking it a second time does seem to work though. Any ideas?
