    Ext JS 1, 2 and 3 were basically a collection of widgets where Ext JS 4 is much more of an application framework with MVC. Better tooling makes life easier, as simple as that.

    Thanks a lot for response. Learned a lot.

    Will somebody shares the best practise for integrating multiple EXTJS MVCS application into one portal? Let's say integrate into the desktop demo application. Think about you have to integrate ExtJS MVCS apps developed in different teams and they may not aware the possible integration at the begin. Will the integration be easier if the MVCS was not employeed?

    I agree that ExtJS 4 is not a collection of widgets anymore. It appears to me a kind of new language on top of Javascript. Meanwhile, it introduce MVCS pattern for creating a app. Also, it supplies convenience command line tool that are similar as quick software development framework like Rail etc. It is great that ExtJS4 standardizes the app organization. But, it looks like multiple apps was not concerned at the begin.

    ExtJS 4 market it as desktop style web application. We have MVC in Microsoft MFC and Java Swing. But, they are different from the Web application MVC framework, which residents on the server side. Also, multiple languages coexist on the server side and only presentation layer languages (javascript, html etc) will be delivered to browser side in the View. I remember it is enough to use Object Oriented, functional module, and event as glue to develop a desktop app. Modified MVC is tightly packaged in each Widget level there.

    I dont know. Probably, we can have easier life if ExtJS 4 App supports multiple "sub-apps"/"modules" at the begin. (what is the definitions of "sub-apps" and "modules"? just mapped to subdirectories?)
    Thanks and regards,

    Yiyu Jia

    Anyone using this for ExtJS 4.2.1? Are there changes over the 4.1.3 version in this post?

    Hello all, we have a requirement to use different apps for loading data and showing different views based on country and business type, using extend and override in a Base - Business - Country app fashion. I was reading this interesting thread and saw that Fredric posted his final effort on https://github.com/Fredric/ExtJS-Multiple-MVC but that was a while ago now. Has this been expanded on yet for ExtJS5?

    Default ExtJS 4.2 Big / modular applications

    ExtJS 4.2 Big / modular applications

    FWIW, using ExtJS 4.2 it was easy to incorporate full Exp.Applications such as :

    CarTracker: http://existdissolve.com/category/ja...p-walkthrough/
    -> https://github.com/suprojs/supro-dem...les/cartracker

    Examples' MVC Feed Viewer: http://docs.sencha.com/extjs/4.2.2/e...ed-viewer.html -> https://github.com/suprojs/supro-dem...ules/suprobits

    as app modules into bigger superapp: https://github.com/suprojs/supro-demo

    That demo versions are already optimized for fast initial loading. Unoptimized prev. version with a bit of shortcut boilerplate on top is here:

    https://github.com/suprojs/supro-dem..._feedviewer.js

    Default app module example: Ext JS Grid Grouping Tutorial

    app module example: Ext JS Grid Grouping Tutorial

    Here is new applicaiton adoption example https://github.com/olecom/extjs-grid...45b2444997213a

    from tutorial: http://miamicoder.com/2014/ext-js-gr...ping-tutorial/

    That external tutorial about other stuff -- i.e. grids.

    But it has fresh complete Application as an example. So I just took that app and converted to submodule of that i'm talking about -- app module of supro.
    Last edited by olecom; Yesterday at 10:54 AM. Reason: explain why tutorial isn't about submodules
