QR code reader

Is there a way to create or read a QR code via Sencha Touch Framework?
I am working for a non-profit org where we need to provide kids a printed QR pass so we can track their summer school field activities via Apple Ipad device.
Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated!

To create a QR code, there is this extension by VinylFox. http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthre...x.touch.QRCode

To read a QR code is more difficult as I understand it (and I hope someone corrects me if I am wrong here). You would need access to the device's native hardware so I believe you would need to package your Touch application as a native app using PhoneGap: http://www.phonegap.com/
