Listener versus ManagedListener

Hello,

I'm a newbie to extjs and want to get off onto the right foot when designing.

What is the difference between a ManagedListener and a Listener? What does Managed imply?

I haven't seen this distinction in the documentation. If this question is addressed in the documentation, please refer me to the location within the documentation.
