    A bit late - but if anyone else is looking for the answer the loading mask is owned by the list of the combo box.

    So you have to add this to the listConfig attribute of the combo box e.g.

    Code:
    Ext.create('Ext.form.ComboBox', {
       ....
       listConfig: { loadMask: false },
       store: strCmbDipendente
    });

    this is what i do in my combobox

    set your store to autoload: true
    Code:
    xtype: 'combo',
    width: 450,
    triggerAction: 'all',
    emptyText: 'Select a office',
    name:'office_account',
    displayField: 'ofc_acct_name',
    valueField: 'ofc_acct_code',
    store: me.storeOfficeAccount,
    forceSelection:true,
    queryMode: 'local',
    itemId: 'ofc_account',
    typeAhead:true,
    doQuery: function(queryString, forceAll) {
    		this.expand();
    		this.store.clearFilter(!forceAll);
                     if (!forceAll) {
    			this.store.filter(this.displayField, new RegExp(Ext.String.escapeRegex(queryString), 'i'));
    			}
    },
     listConfig: {
    		emptyText: '<br><center>Office not found</center>.'
    }
