    Cool Required Fields Validation in Extjs 4

    Required Fields Validation in Extjs 4

    I need to validate the required fields in case those are blank by having the * symbol in the label for all the required fields uniformly.how can we put a * symbol for all required fields and then validate them in ExtJs 4.

    Hi Allen,
    have you found a appropriate solution for this in ExtJS 4.x? All overrides and patches that are around are not really working in 4.x.

    @all: Anyone fixed this issue?

    All hints are welcome, digging my head quite a while now on this.

    Cheers,

    Pete

    I think what you are asking is going against the grain of Ext JS. if I'm understanding you correctly. I have built (Struts-based) Web applications whose form field validations keyed off the presence of an asterisk before the field label. But in Ext JS, this should be done using configuration (allowBlank: false) on the form. You should still be able to put an asterisk before the field label (fieldLabel: '* First Name') and, if desired, can apply a distinct style to the label to make it stand out using labelStyle.
