    Exclamation [FNR] Question, small bugs and to do remindes for dp5

    [FNR] Question, small bugs and to do remindes for dp5

    1) How can I get index of selected item from combo box after I selected an item?
    Code:
            final ComboBox<State> combo = new ComboBox<State>(states, props.name());
            combo.addValueChangeHandler(new ValueChangeHandler<State>() {

                @Override
                public void onValueChange(ValueChangeEvent<State> event) {
                    //event.getValue() is ok
                    //combo.getValue() I get always null
                }
            });
    2) How can I get index or value of selected item from combo box from "outside"?
    Code:
            final ComboBox<State> combo = new ComboBox<State>(states, props.name());
            Button button = new Button("GetValue", new ClickHandler() {

                @Override
                public void onClick(ClickEvent event) {
                    //combo.getValue() returns selected item string, not even proper type of declared generic field
                }
            })
    3) ComboBox: setForceSelection doesn't work
    4) ComboBoxselect(int index) and combo.select(T item) doesn't work,
    5) TabbedPanel setPlain(true) doesn't work,
    6) No grid plugins (row numberer, expander, ...)

    Thanks for your report. We know that there are many issues and that is also why it is still called DP (Developer Preview). We are still working on adding all the features from GXT 2. Once that is done, we will release a Beta version and fix the last remaining issues

    Good to know that beta should have all features. It also would be nice to know what bugs do you have in your bugtracker, because it's pointles to double them on the forum. I know that users are layzy, most dont respect companys order and don't know search option, but community is also the power of the product. Please consider read only mode or web service that could expose bugs details. You could even create (or I can ) client to browse them thanks to GXT or ExtJs like you do with posts from the forum in many given examples.

    Me and lot of people think that you do great job and some of us would like to help contributing usefull data, but also we dont like to do redundant work.

    • ValueChangeHandler now gets passed correct type, not the raw text.
    • event.getValue() and combo.geValue now return same value
    • setForceSelection fixed.
    • setEditable fixed.
    • RowNumberer and RowExpander have been added.
    Changes will go out in our beta release next week.
