Is It Possible to use Notes View UI only

I am just getting started with Extnd and am wondering if it is possible to just use theview component only, rather than the entire ui. I want toembed a view in a page and use it hat way. If this is possible, if I could get pointed in the proper direction to teach myself how to do this, or any other help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
