Default Unanswered: Modifying the virtual keyboard on iOS

Unanswered: Modifying the virtual keyboard on iOS

I have a search field (text field works the same BTW) and when the field gets focus the virtual keyboard is shown.
On top of that keyboard there is one row of buttons, which I would like to get rid of. The buttons in the row are (see the image below):
    Previous, Next, Autofill, Done

Is there a way to get rid of that extra row, which just takes away screen space?

Did some googling and it seems that this behavior cannot be changed through HTML/JavaScript/Sencha as it is part of how Mobile Safari works.

Please correct me if I am wrong

This seems to be the consensus on the searches I have done - that there's no way to hide this toolbar. FWIW - the official name for the toolbar is the "form assistant."

It's a real shame in use cases where you only have a single field, and/or are tightly constrained on space (e.g. iPad in landscape format).

Of course if this changes or anyone has an idea, I would love to know.

If your mobile app has wrapped in a native objective-c, your may try this solution . It works for me.
