Default Unanswered: Recommended way to do Retina Charts?

Unanswered: Recommended way to do Retina Charts?

Is there a recommended way to do retina charts?

I've played around with viewport width and a bunch of other stuff but I can never get the page to display correctly on retina and non-retina devices.

Is there an official example of how to do it? I notice none of the demos support retina display?

    Thanks,
    matt

All the charts are doing is adding a canvas element. We don't do anything special for retina and non-retina displays.

    Understood.

In that case, can you point me to an example where that chart renders twice as detailed on a retina display?

Currently all charts render the same on non-retina and retina (which is therefore blocky) in the demos.

    Thanks,
    matt

    I've been looking into this...

Here's how I am making pogress:
    - design and code index.html to be 640px wide
    - set meta viewport initial-scale=0.5, maximum-scale=0.5 in head of HTML

However, Sencha Touch JS was overriding the viewport setting, so:
    - set meta viewport initial-scale=0.5, maximum-scale=0.5 in sencha-touch.js
    (argh! this took some finding)

Now, this looks and works great in the iOS simulator - in retina and non-retina modes.

However, when the HTML runs through PhoneGap the viewport is not honoured.
Is it being overridden in PhoneGap somewhere?

    Any ideas?
