    Default Ext JS UI - with a slick design - anyone ?

    Ext JS UI - with a slick design - anyone ?

    Hi All,<br>
    <br>
    We have built an Ext JS App with Zend / MySQL as back-end. The application works fine. The UI is Ok (with grey theme).<br>
    <br>
    But, we are looking at making the UI very slick (UIs typically done by web designers). Can you share URL to some really good -looking Ext JS apps, if any !.<br>
    <br>
    Thanks !

    Using SASS, you can easily change the looks of your app with some variables depending how far you want to go.

    Thanks Mitchell. We did that, but we could only change the color/font/size. Is there any SaSS samples which gives a radically different look & feel !

    This is one of the greatest failings of extJS in my opinion, after all these years there is not an easy way to theme it - oh everyone will harp the SASS will look after all your needs, etc, etc... but really it does not, unless you just want to change the color and still have the UI look exactly the same. Maybe I am wrong, maybe you can... so if this is the case, WHERE ARE THE THEMES? There are none, zilch - all I see are some different colors - or some that do have a bit of a different look and feel, but ugly as hell.

    I would love to use extJS with my day job, but the bosses just won't allow it - our designers just can't work with it - and yes they did try, we did do an app and did make it look pretty good as well, but then came upgrade and it was found that we would spend less time converting the UI to jQuery than fixing all the problems from upgrading ext.

    I know extJS can look nice, look at Sencha Animator - this is created with extJS and the theme looks awesome, why then is it not available... did they have to hack it too much for it to be distributable?

    Anyways I will end my rant. I do appreciate the work that has gone into Sencha / extJS - but maybe you guys should hire some UI designers and make it a bit more easy to theme it. I would like to see theme sites popping up everywhere like with Joomla, yes even to pay, cause it is damn well worth it to get a decent theme that doesn't look like it came out of the early Zeros...

    Thanks
