Default Answered: Button in NestedList tpl

    Answered: Button in NestedList tpl

TL;DR How do I listen to button clicks that occur in a template of a nested list.

I am about to finish up a nested list component in my application. The template for the nested list items requires 2 buttons. I was wondering if the functionality of being able to use buttons in a template had been implemented in ST2 Beta. I remember I asked a similar question around the time of ST2(PR2?) and ended up working around the problem.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. You cannot directly add a button component into a NestedList. We have however implemented a component based dataview which you may want to take a look at. More information here: http://www.sencha.com/blog/dive-into...ouch-2-beta-2/

New useComponent feature of dataview is too complicated. Old templates are very visual. New way is too abstract.
If one wanted to learn objective-c like syntaxes they wouldn't be using Sencha. I think prime target audience for Sencha Touch is JavaScript/PHP developer. If one could use directly xtypes in old itemTpl, it would be much more elegant solution from the user point of view.

By the same token, SASS is too complicated too. Less is much more human and more popular. If I was sitting with you at the company meeting that's exactly what I would say.

That said, in all other regards Sencha Touch is really awesome tool to facilitate rapid development. It makes development of beautiful mobile apps a breeze!
