Are there any plans to have DataView function just like a Carousel?

I see that with the advent of rc1 horzintal wrapping was introduced to data views. Coupled with a scroll snap this seems to nearly mimic the functionality of a carousel.... nearly. So I was wondering if there were any plans to truly make a data view function like a carousel since the horizontal wrap and scroll snap combination doesn't really snap like a carousel would. Though it gets close.
