    Default Chrome Debugger vs Huge Single File With Entire Library

    Chrome Debugger vs Huge Single File With Entire Library

    I was fooling around with one of the menu examples. I think the controls are great. Was going to step into some of the render stages to practice debugging into the library.

    Noticed the bootstrap.js, and I"m using the debug query variable. What would be nice is if the loader , there was a way I could not use bootstrap.js. For debugging I would rather see a lot of smaller files that are named and scoped to the particular area I"m interested in.

    Even though I can search into a file with 100K plus lines of code, it's a little large.

    So my question is does ExtJS have a loader that will produce a waterfall of loaded script files which is a better dev experience ?

    Use ext-debug.js. It is the core file and the rest of the framework will load.

    Thanks... now I have this issue....

    Wow that's great, so now I just need to learn the loader. I thought that using the require function would work ?

    I'm not in an application just in the dom ready event handler. Is there some more 'core' I need , or should the loader be able to resolve a root; ? -> in this case 'Ext.menu.DatePicker' .

    Ext.require( [ 'Ext.menu.DatePicker'] );

    var dateControl = Ext.create('Ext.menu.DatePicker', {....});
    The line above throws from: Ext.ClassManager.instantiate

    Uncaught TypeError: object is not a function

    Thanks for the help... ( controls are great I have several up on a test page )

    best

    It should be able to find it. You should do the Ext.Loader.setConfig and Ext.require before Ext.onReady however. This way the classes in the Ext.require will be loaded and will defer the onReady execution until those classes are loaded.
