Default [B3/RC1/RC2] Weird stuff happening on Chrome 18/19

[B3/RC1/RC2] Weird stuff happening on Chrome 18/19

I know Chrome 19 is a dev build yet, but some strange things are happening while I'm developing and testing on Chrome 19.

Sometimes buttons from toolbars and tabs from tabpanel are not rendered. After add a new tab or buttons, the others tabs/buttons are rendered.

Sometimes columns's width from grids inside tabpanels decrease after change to another tab and back to the first one.

Refreshing the whole page fix these problems. But after sometime they come back. This is totally random and I'm sure I'm not doing anything wrong on my code.

This is not happening with any other browser. Even on Chrome 17 this is not a issue.

    Anyone have the same problem?

    Edit:
    Temporary solution (override):

So looking at one example as I'm sure the root cause is the same, the buttons in toolbar not showing all the time. Is this reproducible in a small test case? I know you said it's random but does it happen in a small test?

I can't reproduce these problems on the extjs examples (small cases I have in hands now). I will try to set up a basic application with only the necessary components and try to reproduce them.

Anyway, my application is basically a viewport with a tabpanel.
The first tab is a simple HTML, and other tabs can be opened with menu calls.

These new tabs can be forms or grids. The toolbar issue happens in any of these tabs randomly.

I'm leaving for the weekend now, but on Monday I will do more tests.

Will look forward to it if you can at all find some way to reproduce it. Have a great weekend!

    Hello,

I've been using the nightly builds and I can say that, at least for me, the issue with Chrome 18/19, was resolved on the latests builds of Feb. I don't know which build was beta3 based on... (haven't used the official releases sin the nightly builds are available)

The problem with toolbar buttons "disappearing" (the markup is there but the width was set to 0px) and grid columns losing its "flex" (the columns where shrinking to the left), and the problem with charts legend stuck on the upper left, where happening constantly on my end... and I also could reproduce then toolbar/grid problems on the theme example of the different builds.... (it was a matter of resizing the window just a few times, sorting on some grids, or resizing a panel a few times... sometimes it happened on the first window resize, sometimes it happened after a lot of tries, it was a really rare and random bug...)

I had to move to chrome stable (still using it), but now I'm constantly testing with google canary, so, at least with the builds from the 27-28 of Feb and Canary (19.0.1064.0 canary) the problem seems to be fixed.

    Hope it helps

The thing is, IMHO, that the problems with the toolbar buttons & grid column widths, were in ExtJS 4.1 not in Chrome/Chromium...

On ExtJS 4.0.7, using the same browsers, chrome 18/19, there was no way to reproduce the toolbar btns & grid columns... (can't recall if the chart legend problems happened on 4.0.7 or not)....

In any case... try the nightly builds, I haven't been able to reproduce the problems with the nightly builds...

    Hope it helps

I would just add that we have users with 4.07 code, and we get the chrome "Aww Snap" error. Just happen when they got new version of chrome. When we reverted back all issues were gone.

You can tell that your app will go haywire when the text and buttons of toolbars dont show, or you collapse a west panel, your center region disappears.

heheh, well, then maybe it's a chrome bug hehe, and maybe got resolved in the latest 19 builds...

I will try to find time and test with the 18 builds during the weekend and see if I can reproduce the problems with the nightly builds...

All my apps are now running on 4.1, and I'm pretty happy with it...

I've been downloading the nightly builds daily and kdiff'ing them..., sometimes I had to do a few overrides (like the one on the file input that were rendered as disabled, and a few others).. now I just have 3 or 4 overrides (that's even less that what I had on 3.x)...

Overall I'm quite happy with how 4.1 has improved things again...

    Heymaksimenko!

Thanks for your help, you described the same problems I have, but the only difference is the build date. I'm happy to know these problems are not there anymore. Probably these issues have already been fixed in the build you are using.

I'm using the last public beta 3 build:
    Build date: 2012-02-21 23:18:31

As I don't have access to the nightly builds (even with commercial license) so I have to wait for a new public release.

This is another example why Sencha should open their bugtracker. I spent hours trying to discover WHAT and IF I was doing something wrong, but in the end it seems it was a bug and has already been fixed.
