    Default Generating New App using SDK tools

    Generating New App using SDK tools

    Hi,

    I am using Windows XP, and the hosting directory in my local PC is C:\Inetpub\wwwroot, where I load all apps that I need to host locally to run them in browser.

    I downloaded the files of Sencha Touch SDK in the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot directory in a new folder named 'touch'.
    Then I installed the "SenchaSDKTools-2.0.0-Beta" in the same folder 'touch'.
    So, now under C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\touch folder, I have the various SDK folder viz. 'build', 'command', 'docs', 'examples', etc. and some JS files, as well as a folder named "SenchaSDKTools-2.0.0-Beta", which contains the toolkit.

    Next, I went to the command line and went into the directory "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\touch\SenchaSDKTools-2.0.0-Beta>" and typed sencha and pressed enter. It showed me "Sencha Command v2.0.0 Beta" in the first line, indicating that the toolkit has been installed successfully.

    Now, I wanted to generate an application. So, I typed in the following command:
    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\touch\SenchaSDKTools-2.0.0-Beta> sencha generate app MyApp

    But nothing happened. I even tried with 'sencha app create MyApp', but still nothing happened.

    I don't know if I'm following the right procedure to download the contents and use them.
    Please guide me as to where I'm going wrong with this.

    Thanks for your help,
    Vijayesh

    Go into the Sencha Touch SDK directory and type sencha. Does it look different than when you typed sencha in the SDK Tools directory?

    Yeah.. When I typed sencha in the SDK directory, it gave different commands list than it gave in the tools directory.
    Also, I'm able to generate apps now when I type in the command 'sencha generate app MyApp' in the SDK directory.

    But I also found that any of the sencha command that I type, either for generating apps or for creating controller file, etc., it didn't recognise the command at the first prompt. When I typed 'sencha', pressed enter, it got executed. And then, when I typed any other command line argument, it got executed too. I don't know why this happens.

    But anyways, Thanks for the help.

    Good! Then you can use the sencha app create command from the Sencha Touch SDK directory

    Default XML data not found in the response

    XML data not found in the response

    Hi,

    I'm having trouble parsing XML content from a web service. The contents simply doesn't show. Please find the detailed explanation below:-

    I made an application exactly as described in the "Getting Started with Sencha Touch 2.0" tutorial.

    In the 'blog.js' section however, I wanted to parse an XML formatted document, instead of a JSON format.

    I typed in the following line of code in the view/Blog.js file:-

    Code:
    Ext.define("MyApp.view.Blog", {
        extend: 'Ext.navigation.View',
        xtype: 'blogpanel',

        requires: [
            'Ext.dataview.List',
            'Ext.data.reader.Reader',
            'Ext.data.reader.Xml',
            'Ext.data.Store'
        ],

        config: {
            title: 'Blog',
            iconCls: 'star',

            items: {
                xtype: 'list',
                itemTpl: '{BodyPart_Name}',
                title: 'Recent Posts',

                store: {
                    autoLoad: true,
                    fields: ['BodyPart_ID', 'BodyPart_Name'],

                    proxy: {
                        type: 'ajax',
                        url: 'http://home-remedies.chandigarhexchange.com/webservice.asmx/GetAllOrgans',
                        reader: {
                            type: 'xml',
                            record: 'Table',
                            rootProperty: 'DataSet'
                        }
                    }
                }
            }
        }
    });
    When I ran the application, it didn't load the contents of the XML file.
    It listed out the following error as was viewed in the inspect element of Chrome:-

    XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://home-remedies.chandigarhexcha...art=0&limit=25. Origin http://localhost is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin.

    and a warning:-

    [WARN][Ext.data.reader.Reader#process] XML data not found in the response

    The fields 'BodyPart_ID' and 'BodyPart_Name' are part of the XML content in the url: http://home-remedies.chandigarhexcha...x/GetAllOrgans, that I used in the code above.

    I even tried to put the below meta tags in the "index.html" file:-
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/xml; charset=utf-8">
    But nothing happened. Same error occurred.

    However, if I copied and pasted the contents of the URL in a file with extension '.xml' and then give that name in the url: '' section in the code above, then it displayed the contents fine.

    I don't know what more is to be included here.

    Please guide me.

    Thanks,
    Vijayesh
