SDK download help

I realize there is a step by step guide to download the SDK and run it, but it is fairly sparse and I've followed it perfectly. I'm having an issue getting the Sencha Touch 2 SDK and tools to run at all. There is no application icon to open just files. They've been unzipped and all should be fine. I have a local server running, but still nothing. Can anyone give me a detailed step by step guide? I would need to know what screw ups I'm making. Do I need to download anything other than the SDK and tools? I'm a bit of rookie at these things and would appreciate the help.

may it help to read the command guid and watch the getting started video where they use the sdk
