i need to increase the size of the desktop start menu where the small icons are

desktop.getTaskBar().getStartMenu().setWidth(320);
although in chrome19 i can see the size changing in IE8 or in IE9 that setting is not having the same effect or, better to say for diff browsers i need to set the width to a different size to make everything look nice

although in my opinion the width should automatically adjust to fit the longest StartToolMenuItem object added
