    Default what is masking?

    what is masking?

Probably a beginner issue, I see it discussed frequently in the forums but don't really understand the concept. Can anyone suggest where to look to understand this better (in general and the "ext way")?

masking is covering an item with a semitransparent div, which keeps the user from attempting to interact with that item. A good example is a loading screen or any modal window.

Masking is used to mask out and element usually to display a loading dialog box so that the masked area can not be accessed.

When you creat an Ext.Window you can set masked: true which will then mask out anything below the window.

Hope that helps a little more!
