I just found the same issue and was searching for a solution.
I noticed it doesn't happen in FF but does happen in IE.

This is done by design. If you want to override that behavior you can check the children after they are loaded and rendered.

    Default rationale?

    rationale?

May I ask what the rationale is for unchecking the child nodes when a parent node is collapsed? I'd think that users may expand/collapse to traverse the tree quickly but at the same time continuing to check nodes (multi select).

You may have a good rationale (since it is by design) that I'd like to understand

    Default fix in later release?

    fix in later release?

    Hi Aaron,
if you agree with me, I can request this to be fixed in a later release. I am not sure why this would be by design.
