    Question Unanswered: Detailed documentation for ExtJS REST request / response handling?

    Unanswered: Detailed documentation for ExtJS REST request / response handling?

    Is there detailed documentation anywhere on what the ExtJS rest classes (Reader, Writer, Proxy) expect from a server response / request?

    For instance, if perform a POST, what does ExtJS expect back in order to get an id for the newly create resource.

    The documentation around ExtJS seems really solid, but I haven't seen these particular details laid out anywhere. Maybe this is a disconnect because I am new to REST and everyone else takes these details for granted, but I am doing a lot of trail and error just to get basic things to work and I would appreciate some guidance.

    Thanks.

    The expected response would be something like:

    Here are some basic crud example:

    grid:
    Code:
    {
        "total"     : "4",
        "widgets" : [
            {
                "id"        : "1",
                "name"      : "Lisa",
                "email"     : "lisa@simpsons.com"
            },
            {
                "id"        : "2",
                "name"      : "Bart",
                "email"     : "bart@simpsons.com"
            },
            {
                "id"        : "3",
                "name"      : "Homer",
                "email"     : "homer@simpsons.com"
            },
            {
                "id"        : "4",
                "name"      : "Marge",
                "email"     : "marge@simpsons.com"
            }
        ]
    }
