Working with UTC date, difference between Architect Win and Mac

I am loadind a date into a store from XML file.

I observe a difference between Architect Windows and Mac for the same project.
I may have a setting difference on the two Architect installations or is this expected.

On Windows it seems that the date is imported into the store as a UTC date, it is displayed in lists and via console log in Chrome as Local time ( timezone works well).

    XML: 2012-07-20T09:00:00 became
    Console.log reported: Fri Jul 20 2012 18:30:00 GMT+0930 (Cen. Australia Standard Time)
List reported: Fri Jul 20 2012 18:30:00 GMT+0930 (Cen. Australia Standard Time)

In Mac it seems to be imported as Local time format, it is displayed in Safari and when deployed to iPhone as

    XML: 2012-07-20T09:00:00 became
    Console.log reported: Fri Jul 20 2012 09:00:00 GMT+0930 (CST)
    List reported: Fri Jul 20 2012 09:00:00 GMT+0930 (CST)

I obviously can get the timezone and add it myself but if my issue is just a setting I would prefer to understand and do it correctly
