    @luv2hike -- Sorry, haven't posted the most recent updates yet. Change onRender (line 359 ish) to :
    Code:
     ,onRender  : function(ct, position){

             //Final macro substition for rendered tag attributes

            if(this.bodyCfg){
                 this.bodyCfg = this.applyMacros(this.bodyCfg);
            }

            Ext.ux.MediaPanel.superclass.onRender.call(this, ct, position);

            // Set the Visibility Mode for el, bwrap for collapse/expands/hide/show

            Ext.each(
                [this[this.collapseEl],this.el , this.body.child('x-media')]
                ,function(el){
                    if(el){
                        el.setVisibilityMode(Ext.Element[this.hideMode.toUpperCase()] || 1 )
                              .originalDisplay = (this.hideMode != 'display'?'visible':'block');
                    }
              },this);

         }

    That worked! Thank you VERY much for your quick response and perseverance with me on this! So just to summarize in case someone else needs this same functionality:
    • I upgraded MediaPanel to version 0.3
    • I replaced the onRender function with the one in the previous post
    • Then I modified my code as shown below.
    PHP Code:
    var pdfConfig = {

    mediaType'PDF',

    url'makePdfServlet',

    unsupportedText'PDF viewer is not installed.'
    };

    var
    pdfPanel = new Ext.ux.MediaPanel(
    {

    id"oldtestcard",

    mediaCfgnull
    });

    testGrid.on("rowdblclick", function(thegridrowidxevtobj)
    {

    pdfPanel.renderMedia(Ext.apply(pdfConfig,
        {

    url"makePdfServlet?parmA="+thegrid.store.getAt(rowidx).get('widget')+"&parmB="+thegrid.store.getAt(rowidx).get('gadget')
        }));
    });

    Does the 3.1 update include the onRender fix from above?

    Wow, just found this and I'm sure it will save me some time. Thanks a lot for sharing and continuously improving this one! (if you don't hear any more from me then it works so fine that I don't even need any support ).

    Question Acrobat z-index problem

    Acrobat z-index problem

    Hi,

    I yesterday discovered this great helper and run some tests to see whether it solves a problem I had before when I tried to display PDF files in a Panel.
    Unfortunately the MediaPanel shows the same effect of overlaying Tooltips, Message Boxes and other windows when showig PDF files as you can see on the attached image.
    I tried to change z-indexes of several elements using firebug without any success yet .
    I find this for IE7 and Firefox2 with Acrobat 8.

    Did anybody experience this problem too or better did anybody already found a solution/fix for that issue?
    I will go on trying, but my skill on that kind of things is limited.

    Maybe you can set the css visibility on the object before a modal/mask is used?

    It might even be possible to code that in to the ux as a work around when any Ext object overlaps an object that doesn't support z-index ... ?

    I have this same problem using Firefox on OS/X with the Schubert PDF plugin. I also found an issue when resizing the panel that the PDF is in. After releasing the splitter bar, the PDF disappears. I have to keep moving it a little at a time until is shows up again.

    Setting z-index requires absolute positioning. As each MP.mediaCfg assigns a unique className (x-media-pdf in your case), try:

    HTML Code:
    .x-media-pdf {position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px;z-index:??? }
    I am currently working on applying the same 'layout awareness' for borderlayout dragging that ManagedIframePanel does now. Should solve the drag issues, but not sure about the 'disappearing act'.

    Will advise.
