Is there a way to replace the deploy script which does an rsync to do a rsync with ssh?

I am on a Mac and I really don't want to use Transmit or put an action on the folder.

I don't want to use WebDav, many developers on cloud based environments don't even run local web servers -- rather developers have the entire runtime stack remote.
