Answered: How to properly connect to MySQL DB?

Guys i'm new to Sencha and have been reading tons of documentation but what I haven't been able to find is the proper way to make a connection to my MySQL DB.

Could someone point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

  2. MySQL is a server side application.

Sencha touch apps are client side.

Therefore to communicate with a MySQL database you will need a web service driven by a server side script (in something like PHP or .NET) to query the database and return JSON to the Sencha Touch app.

There is websql and sqlite if you want a local database that is similar to MySQL. I wrote a proxy that allows use of these client-side databases with sencha touch 2: http://www.sencha.com/forum/showthre...ST2-(advanced)
