Default Unanswered: Detect Tomcat shutdown from ExtJS4

Unanswered: Detect Tomcat shutdown from ExtJS4

I have written on application in ExtJS4. Whenever the server goes down (in my case Tomcat container) how can I detect automatically from the app side without invoking any extra polling? I have couple of polling right now implemented in the app. I want to use these polling for piggybacking the response.

    Please help. It is urgent.

I do not think Tomcat will broadcast anything to the browser. You may have to ping the server once in a while.

There will be some error code for the response I am getting for all the requests right?
