Play control don't show up on video component
Play control don't show up on video component
when you use a video component you can't see the play icon in the middle of the video, it appears briefly only after you tap on video.

What device and OS? This is likely going to be browser behavior.

I've tested with IOS safari (latest version) both IPhone and IPad, but also on mac with Safari and Chrome, same result not play arrow icon.
You can see the demo kitchen sink under media/video, you can see the poster but non the play icon, if you tap on it it will briefly show before the movie start playing.

That's because it's just an image so there isn't going to have a play control.

Usually when you have a video tag in html5 by default it shows the play icon in the middle of the video. This is to give the user an hint that that's a video and not an image. The ext.video component it seams to hide that functionality. How would I know that that is a video to play and not an image.

The reason why we do this is really performance. If you have even just 1 video component and try scrolling the performance of it due to that video component is very poor. So we show an image and when you tap on the image it then allows you to play the video providing much better performance. What I usually do is on the image have a play icon that will then match my application's theme.
