Default is one animation more performant than another?

is one animation more performant than another?

I was wondering is there is a certain type of animation that is considered to have better performance than others. for example, when deciding between a slide and a fade for card switching does one have a better impact on performance or resource consumption than the other?
    thanks.

Ones like flip I have seen where it isn't as performant as just a slide. To me, it matters more about how many elements and what CSS they are using matter the most.
