Unanswered: speed up the initialization of transition animation

I use st2.1 for iPad application developing.
it looks cool, but I'm concerned about the speed of the animation transition initialization. animation looks great, but the time between pressing the transition button and the start of the animationis is really long in navigation view and tab panel. When I disable the animation, the reaction speed increases.
I want to achieve the response time like the one in your application http://touch.theatlanticwire.com. What do i need to do?

P.S. could you tell me more about Animation queue?

The biggest thing I usually see people do is try and animate large number of elements which causes perf issues on the animation.
