Thank you for your answer Mitchell.
Of course my question is not so easy to answer... but as I'm going to build a new (empty) project with ExtJS 4.2.2, what would you suggest to me as "development guidelines" to be ready for the switch to 5.x?

As I see the first one could be "do not override a lot", couldn't? Others (if any)?

I know everybody asked before and you don't know exactly the answer, but I will ask you anyway
Could we see 5 version in this month?

As you can compare 4.x to 5.x versions, do you think the first release of 5.x will be enough stable to go in production environment? or maybe it will be better to use 4.x?

    Thank you!

Use best practices (what goes into that statement is quite a bit more involved than I'm going to give in a thread).

The public beta is on schedule for late February or early March.

Do I think the first release of 5.x will be stable enough? 5.0 GA will be, the public beta you should never put a beta or RC release into production.

Will this 5.x beta release include declarative markup similar to how GluJS works?

Interesting comment: "GluJS code looks downright unreadable"

What I would really like to see in ExtJS 5 is a better MVC architecture, one that doesn't impose controllers to know of the view logic, but just communicating through events:

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...01759#21601759

    Similar to this implemented:

    http://bruno.tavares.me/sencha-ext-j...in-sencha-mvc/

I can't believe that currently the way for a controller to listen to events from the view is by selecting a component in the view logic. Everything should just communicate through events, creating a layer of abstraction which will make everything truly decoupled.

Beta release date didn't change? Can we expect 5.0 beta soon?
