list disclose delay

I'm getting a noticeable delay when clicking on a disclose icon in a list item (in a navigation view). The disclose button loads up a pretty hefty panel however I'm trying to show a loading mask as soon as the diclose item is tapped and then get rid of it when the panel is loaded...

Any ideas?

In simple examples the disclose event is firing without a delay for me.
