    [4.2 RC] Missing reset CSS rules for Chrome

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML>
    <html>
    <head>
        <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">

        <!--Ext and ux styles -->

    </head>
    <body>
        <ul><li>Showing disc image</li></ul>
    <h3>margin-top</h3>
    </body>
    </html>
    Launch this in latest Chrome on Mac, you'll see discs for the list and a margins for the h3-tag.

    These are not reset.
    Code:
    -webkit-margin-before: 1em;
    -webkit-margin-after: 1em;
    -webkit-margin-start: 0px;
    -webkit-margin-end: 0px;

    I believe CSS resetting has been removed in 4.2, along with all the nasty hacks for scoped CSS. It should now play nicely with others without having to jump through so many hoops.

    Well, this means I get inconsistent rendering across browsers. I'd expect the components should use reset anyway? I get the same result in an Ext Tooltip...

    Components which use elements with some kind of styling in the user agent stylesheet should override those styles for their own use.

    Which particular components have problems with which elements?

    So that's user content.

    We no longer force styles upon that.

    Could you, please, clarify why? Simply because of the fact that it is out of your responsibility to stylize any user content? Or, maybe, is there any additional reason (-s) like performance? I mean, does it cost to reset CSS?

    Using a reset stylesheet was a defect that's been carried along since the origin of Ext JS.

    Removing the reset stylesheet is not related to performance.

    In general, you should be able to drop extjs.css into an existing page, and it should not change any of the existing style of the page. Now that the reset stylesheet has been removed, extjs.css shouldn't mess with any of the user created styles.

    This can cause a pretty serious breaking change for many applications, and unfortunately happened during a minor version release, but overall it is a good thing.
