Default Unanswered: Combo box very slow to display large list in 4.2.0

Unanswered: Combo box very slow to display large list in 4.2.0

I am using the latest download...4.2.0

Combo box has about 6000 entries in list.

The time to display list after clicking button is now about 9 seconds.

With ExtJS 2 it is about 3 seconds for the same field and list.

Question: Is there any tweak to improve the performance in 4.2.0?

    Thanks

use a buffered store in that case. it will only fetch x amount of records at a time and once they scroll down it would fetch the next X number of records

    That doesn't work.... yet

Specify a pageSize on the ComboBox, and it will use a PagingToolbar to page the data.

But 3 times slower is not good. There must be something wrong. Maybe it's doing layouts?

    I'll have to test it.

It is faster in Chrome...3 secs. compared to 9+ secs in Firefox, about 60 secs in IE.

    9249 records in store

    queryMode:"local"

This is a serious problem...our users only run IE or firefox.

Should I go back to an older version, or is there likely to be a fix forthcoming?

I have gone back to 4.1.1...

Firefox time is back to about 5 seconds, IE is 30+ seconds on the first display, then 9-10 seconds for subsequent attempts.

So 4.1.1 is slightly better than 4.2.0, but still much worse then 2.x.

    Can this be fixed?

I have developed a picker component that uses a regular grid instead of the default combo box list. That means you can use a buffered grid, and that renders way faster than the combo.

You can get it on github.
