I apologize if this is not the proper section to post this. I just installed the trial of Architect and the icon is sitting on my desktop. However when I click on it, apart from the short spining of the hourglass pointer, nothing happens. I'm a developer and have a number of tools installed and running fine on my Windows 8 including Eclipse and Visual Studio, so most of the time I know what I'm doing. However I have found nothing in the documentation and in prior posts in the forum to indicate that special magic is required to run a fresh installation of Architect. So please, if someone knows the proper way to install and launch Architect on Windows 8, let me know.
Just so you know, we've had other reports of similar problems and are working on a solution. As soon as a solution is available we'll let you know where to get it.
I don't know if this helps for you, but for me it helped.
I commented out this directory:
C:\Users\<yourName>\AppData\Local\Sencha, Inc
like this:
C:\Users\<yourName>\AppData\Local\_Sencha, Inc
(see the undescore before Sencha, Inc)
When I next time installed Architect 2.2 it created a new
C:\Users\<yourName>\AppData\Local\Sencha, Inc
directory. When I then started Architect after this it asked
for my username and password and then the app started.
