    We plan to provide plugin support at sometime in the future, but don't have it scheduled as of yet.

    Yep, it certainly could and actually requires some effort/maintenance to explicitly disable it.

    This feature would require security auditing since there may well be additional risk; assessing this, implementing the functionality in a way to minimize/clarify this all delay its immediate inclusion.

    This is a very good suggestion for inclusion, Product Management need a clear idea of how much demand there is for it and it would probably help if they had a clear idea of why people would seek out this functionality.

    +1 interested in NPAPI plugins. I would use it to access USB, bluetooth and raw sockets.
    This is important to communicate with microcontrollers for instance.
