    Default Upcoming Fiesta 1.0 beta

    Upcoming Fiesta 1.0 beta

Since last SenchaCon in Austin where we got this idea, we've been working on a way to simplify the bug reporting process for Ext JS, Touch and our own components. Right now, we're currently trying to finalize our new 1.0 beta release of our Fiesta tool - an online crowd sourced test suite and bug reporting tool. Anyone can register and submit bug reports in form of runnable code snippets. It's essentially a blend of JsFiddle and Siesta - targeted at Ext JS and Sencha Touch testing. Here are some screen shots of the current state.

You can easily create a new test, and define the scripts and CSS files to 'preload' for the test.

Here's how it'll look for a simple Sencha Touch test. You can test any of the SDK samples in both Touch and Ext JS, we've included those as templates to allow for easy test case creation.

You can link to any online JS/CSS resource to test third party code like our Gantt chart components.

Thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated, and anyone interested in beta testing it with us please contact me here.

That's what I meant with "very nice". I need to learn Jay's language.

Looks great Mats, can't wait to try it!

Are Sencha interested in using it, so we can actually use it for reporting bugs to them, and tracking their fixes, rather than just things to track for ourselves?

If ultimately this will be run on the desktop, I think it would be great if we could package tests in order to distribute them. The next step would be to be able to load tests from a repository which supports versioning, so that everybody can updates tests and work with the same version.

This was the primary use case this tool was design for Seems Sencha is interested, one can add a link to fiesta test case to the forum thread anyway though.

Distribute the tests? How do you mean?

Good progress over the past couple of days, Fiesta is coming along nicely. It can of course test itself, meaning it can also create new tests inside itself to use as a Getting Started Guide... Check this video!
